Region: The Hidden City, City of the Serpent

Talk to Etzli

You are now at the point of no return. If you want to grab all missing collectibles and finish all challenges, before completing the game, now is the time. Otherwise, if you want to finish the story quickly, speak to Etzli right away to skip them ».
The Hidden City
Mission "Hearts and Minds: Retrieve the Champion's Bow": Make your way over to the Skull Cave base camp to find Uchu waiting for you with another mission.
Enter the Wilderness
Head up the stairs to exit the skull cave. Make your way down to the river and run across the wooden bridge. Go straight and up the stairs in front of you. Continue straight, passing the mural on the right and head towards the waterfall. Here you turn left and follow the path up. At the top of the stairs turn right. Run to the top to where you will find the jungle entrance.
Conversation - Point of Interest: To the left of it you can speak to a Paititian. He will point you to the "Path of Battle" challenge tomb. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Duck through the tunnel to reach the other side.
Investigate the Wilderness
Head up the path to the left and then follow it to the right. On the left side of the path you will find a strange clue, a dead animal that has been killed but not eaten.
Explorer Backpack (4): On the right side, behind the three you can find an Explorer Backpack which will add Survival Caches to your map and reward you with +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Continue along the path into the northern corner of the region. On the right you will find a circular area with a floor made from wooden logs. Here you can examine a sacrificial altar.
Relic (26/28): Over on the right side you will find a small box containing the Beast Effigy from the artifact collection "Secrets and Lies" (7/7). You are rewarded with +25 XP and improve your knowledge of Yucatec. This will complete the story Secrets and Lies and reward you with an additional +75 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Continue up the left path, where you can grab a resource container, rewarding you with +15 XP. Climb up onto the next ledge, where you squeeze through a gap. Hop down into the next area.
Find the Champion's Bow
Head into the cave on the left. Here you will find the Champion's Bow. But before Lara can collect it, she is confronted by the Nahual. Shake it off and use the melee button when displayed to free yourself.
Defeat the Nahual
Flee outside and get ready for a fight. Make sure you do a lot of evading, while dealing with the ferocious animal utilising the bow. Should the beast push you over again, shake it off once more and press the button displayed (often melee) to escape. After a couple of hits the Nahual will retreat to its hideout.
Approach the Nahual
Step inside the cave and approach the Nahual. Lara will take off its mask and the large jaguar will die. She then picks up the Champion's Bow. Do not be worried for not getting the trophy/achievement "Beast of Legend", it will pop at the end of the mission.
Return the Champion's Bow to Uchu
Before we leave, search the area for hardwood (3), medicine (3), a perception plant and feathers. On the ledge up behind the cave you can also find a resource container with +15 XP on the right. Climb to the top ledge and head to the left end. Step out onto the jutting platform.
Challenge "High Diving" (4/4): Perform a swan dive to complete the "High Diving" challenge and to obtain +100 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Challenge Tomb (3/3) "Path of Battle": Upon entering the water the game will notify you that a challenge tomb is nearby. Turn around to face the cliff wall you just jumped down from to spot the entrance for the tomb. Dive down and squeeze through the gap.
Survival Cache (27/34): Just ahead, in the left corner - past the opening on the left which we will come to in a moment - you can dig up another Survival Cache for +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Dive into the passage on the left side and follow it through the open mouth of the skull. The bend to the right will lead you deeper into the tomb. Keep close to the tunnel floor the avoid the two spiked rollers. Past them dive to the surface to enter the challenge tomb proper. Climb out on the left side. Here you may come upon spiders rewarding you with dart poison and +5 XP each. Step toward the edge overlooking the chasm. Up on the opposite wall you can find a craggy part. Jump over there, attach the axe and make sure your grip on the wall is firm. Use the rope to rappel down. At the bottom end of the rope swing forward and jump towards the lower ledge. Here you will discover the Ossuary base camp. Near the edge you will also be able to collect some hardwood.
Mural (20/23): To the right of the base camp, close to the chasm, you will find another mural, this one titled Mother Deity from the artifact collection "Pantheon of Gods 3" (7/7). You will earn +35 XP and improve your knowledge of Mam. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Squeeze through the opening behind the camp, past the obsidian blades. Head down the stairs, past a spider which may provide you with more dart poison, to find a serpent head lever out on the jutting ledge.
Survival Cache (28/34): But before you use it there is another cache to collect. Jump into the water beyond the lever. Swim towards the small platform, just before you reach the floating wooden beam. Under water, just below it, near some stalagmites, on the lower of two levels, you can dig up the next Survival Cache for +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Further there is one medicine plant and two focus plants, as well as a vein of jade ore (+6) to be found in this pool.
Document (36/42): Near the beginning of the pool you can find a set of ledges allowing you to climb out. Climb onto the second ledge where you will find a document lying on the left side. It is Warriors of Kukulkan from the artifact collection "Cult of Kukulkan" (11/11) and will earn you +25 XP as well as improve your knowledge of Yucatec. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) After collecting the document, scale the craggy wall on the right to reach the top again.
Now push the serpent head lever to active the tomb's traps. Turn to the left and head out onto the ramp from which you may jump up to the walkway, circumventing the spiked rollers which block the path at the top of the stairs. Turn right and jump over the next spiked roller. Repeat this at the second spiked roller. Next you will come upon four spiked rollers which you can navigate around by carefully squeezing past them on the left. Head out onto the jutting wooden ledge from where you jump to the axe wall up in front of you. Attach the axe/rope combination while in the air. Rappel down and swing over to the entrance. Follow the path.
Mural (21/23): In the left corner you will find another mural, this one titled Path of Battle from the artifact collection "Trials of the Gods" (8/8) pertaining to the Challenge Tombs. It will earn you +35 XP, another +75 XP for completing the set, and improve your knowledge of Mam. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
If you look down the stairs you will see a closed gate and a set of spiked rollers blocking the path. On the right side here at the top of the stairs you will find a lever attached to a serpent. Push it all the way forward to open the gate and set the traps in motion. Run down the stairs and time your jump to get over the spiked rollers. Step through the opened gate.
Puzzle
When you reach the bottom a complicated trap mechanism will be set into motion. The two serpent head levers on the ledges left and right at the entrance to this chamber are useless for now, as the arms of the contraption have to be raised first.
Left Side
Prepare yourself for some well timed and placed jumps, then head out onto the central platform, just after one of the lower arms has scraped past. Head left and jump over the oncoming arm. Quickly hurry to the exit on the left, jumping over the second arm if necessary. From the jutting ledge jump down to the walkway below. Turn right and jump over the burning trench, making your way past the mostly inactive spike rollers with ease. At the top of the stairs, you will not only find two deposits of gold ore (+12) sitting on some pedestals, but also a wooden lever. Pull it all the way out. Now hurry, because the lever is timed. Head back down the way you came now finding the spiked rollers active. Hurry past the three sets, trying to roll out of the way if they come to close, jump over the burning trench and then over the two single spiked rollers. Finally slip through the double rotating spiked rollers just after they have closed in front of you and jump over the second burning trench to reach the ledge with the lever left of the entrance. Push the serpent head lever before the time runs out to lower the totem halfway.
Right Side
Again step out onto the central platform after the rotating arm went by. This time immediately turn right, and - keeping close to the totem - jump across the gap to reach the exit on the right side. If you like you can go left and jump over or - what is new - duck under the arms a couple of times while making your way around, but Lara won't need the extra exercise. Hop down to the lower walkway and turn left, running past the mostly inactive traps and jumping across the burning gap. At the top of the stairs, back at our trusty timed lever, pull it all the way out again. Turn back to the stairs on the left and head down to navigate past the traps just like you did on the other side. The sequence here is: jump over the burning trench when the two rotating spiked rollers part, jump over the single rotating spiked roller coming from the right, repeat with the one on the left, jump over the next burning trench and run past the final two rotating spiked rollers when they make room. Reach the second serpent head lever to push it before the time runs out to stop the totem.
Climbing the Totem
Approach the central area again. On of the totems arms came to rest just in front of you. Walk up on it and jump up to the spiky ledge to the right. From here face right and jump over to the far ledge. Traverse around to the right and at the end pull up onto the twin stone blocks. From here you can jump up towards the platform with the Tomb Stele. Examine it and you will obtain the skill Sip's Quiver and a skill point. You will also be rewarded with the trophy/achievement Tomb Raider, (Silver/50G) for completing all main game challenge tombs.

Right next to the stele you can find a pole wrapped in rope where you can use rope arrows to create a death slide down to the rope coil by the stairs. Slide down and head up the stairs to leave the inner sanctum. Approach the edge and wait for the two spiked rollers to move upwards, then jump past them to grab the ledge of the entrance on the other side. Follow the tunnel.
Survival Cache (29/34): At the bend where it begins to slope upwards to the right you can dig up another Survival Cache for +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Follow the path up to the top, till you reach the chasm. Jump towards the craggy wall in front of you and use the axe to hold on. Climb around to the left and from the end jump over towards the axe wall further left. Scale it to reach the stairs above. Follow them up, towards a short set of stairs resulting in a dead end. Grab the resource container, rewarding you with +15 XP, here. Then examine the wall to the left before you reach the stairs to find that you can scramble up here. From the top you can jump up to the next ledge. Next scramble up the wall on the right. Duck through the passage filled with stalactites. At the top you will find another resource container worth an additional +15 XP. Carefully advance, preparing for a tumble downhill. At the end jump or at least, in any case throw out the grapple to attach to the craggy wall. Jump towards the second craggy wall further right and use the axe to climb up. Jump into the water and follow the tunnel back out again. Don't forget to stay close to the ground to dive under the spiked rollers. Back in the chamber at the end find the gap leading out into the open on the right.
Crypt (4/5) "Ollanta, the Potter": Still in the pool with the entrance to the "Path of Battle" challenge tomb, face the ledge with the tree in the north-eastern corner. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Climb out and jump up the tree to reach the upper branch. From here, facing right, jump to another tree's branch and swing towards a crack in the cliff wall. Traverse to the right, jumping past the gap. Around the corner, at the end of the ledge scramble up the wall to reach the upper crack. Traverse right and pull up onto the ledge.
Document (37/42): In the corner you will find a rock slab with a statue on it. Right in front lies the document Warning from the artifact collection "Inside Out" (4/7). This will earn you +25 XP as well as improve your knowledge of Quechua. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Face the right end of the ledge, with the waterfall dropping down to your right, and jump towards the next ledge. Pull up onto it and balance out onto the tree. From its left branch jump against the cliff wall and immediately scramble up to reach the handhold. Climb up a little and then traverse around the corner to the right. At the end you will be able to jump up to the overhang which allows you to reach the top. Following this walkthrough you will have completed the challenge "Keep Calm and Carrion" a long time ago, but in case you did not complete it yet, there is another nest with condor feathers on the left. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Enter the dark tunnel on the right. On your way you will meet some spiders for dart poison. Be mindful of the collapsing floor and jump across to avoid the spear pit underneath.
Relic (27/28): On the other side of the spear pit, in the right corner, you will find a small box with the next relic. It is an Arrow from the artifact collection "Inside Out" (5/7). This will earn you +25 XP as well as improve your knowledge of Quechua. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Squeeze through the gap in the wall on the left.
Document (38/42): On a stone slab just in front of you, guarded by a corpse, you will find another document, this one called More Questions from the artifact collection "Inside Out" (6/7). This will earn you +25 XP as well as improve your knowledge of Quechua. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Nearby, behind the corpse you can also collect an endurance plant.
Enter the passage on the left and sneak through the low tunnel. For some goodies follow it out into a chamber with rats straight ahead, before examining the next passage on the right. On the wall ahead you will find a vein offering gold ore (+6) and in the corner on the right you can find a resource container, rewarding you with +15 XP. Head back into the passage and now into the yet unexplored part on the left. At the top of the stairs, on the right side, you will find another resource container with additional +15 XP. Follow the tunnel down to reach the inner sanctum of the crypt. Hop down onto the next level and from there make your way to the bottom.
Mural (22/23): On the wall below the entrance (east) you will find another mural. This one is Ollanta, the Potter from the artifact collection "Resting Places" (7/8). You will earn +35 XP and improve your knowledge of Quechua. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Turn around and find a resource container with +15 XP on the left. Then make your way to the weak wall in the west.
Document (39/42): Before utilising the axe and breaking through the wall, look up to the left. You will find that you can scramble up this wall to reach a ledge. Here you will find a pedestal with the document Merchant Sacrifice from the artifact collection "Metamorphosis" (9/9). This will earn you +25 XP for the document, an additional +75 XP for completing the collection, as well as improve your knowledge of Mam. If you have followed the walkthrough closely, this improvement will unlock the next level of monoliths. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Hop down again.
Use the axe to pry through the weak wall then squeeze through. Behind it you will find a large spear pit. Jump forward and while in the air use the rope axe to swing across. Grab the ledge on the other end and pull up to reach a large chamber. Here you can collect an endurance plant.
Archivist Map (5): Head down the passage to find a pedestal with an Archivist Map, for which you will also get +25 XP, on top. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Further there is a pile of jade ore (+6) in the right corner, behind the pedestal. Leave the chamber again and return to the larger one.
Climb onto the stone ledge right next to the entrance leading to the room with the map. From here scramble up the wall and use the axe on the craggy wall to reach the top. Balance across the beam and from there jump into the opening up on the left where you will find the sarcophagus.
Speak of the Dead (3/4): Open the Sarcophagus to obtain 750 gold pieces, Vestige: Greaves of Six Sky and +135 XP.
Step out onto the platform located through the exit behind the sarcophagus. On the left you will find a pillar wrapped in rope which you can use to create a rope bridge between here and the rope coil above the entrance up on the other side. Climb over, drop into the entrance and follow the tunnel up again, into the darker tunnels, where you take a left to get back into the tunnel with the low ceiling. This will get you back to the corpse that was guarding a document. From here sneak through the narrow gap on the right. Follow the passage jumping across the spear pit. You come out at the top of the pool again. Step out onto the jutting wooden board and perform a swan dive to get down into the lake again. If you did not follow the walkthrough closely, and have not completed the High Diving challenge yet, this could count as one of the dives needed.
Time to get back to the mission. Follow the water north, into the narrow part of the stream. The water gets shallow.
Survival Cache (30/34): Over on the left you can not only find some feathers and possibly a dead animal which can be looted for resources on the left side, but also the next Survival Cache for +25 XP in the right corner, beneath a small palm tree. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
If you like you can scour the region for more resources, and if you are lucky find the Albino Capybara and kill and loot it to advance the Legendary Hunter achievement/trophy progress. But then it's time to return to the Skull Cave. For a quick return find the Wild Jungle base camp on an elevated ledge just opposite of the area where the cache and other resources were and use fast travel, or follow the path described below.

Make your way to the red-marked tunnel entrance on the eastern side to return to Paititi. Turn left and head downhill to reach the wooden bridge spanning the river and cross it. Head up the stairs to the left, then to the right to return to the level with the entrance of the skull cave which you enter.

Talk to Uchu to finish the mission. You will now obtain the trophy/achievement Beast of Legend for defeating the Nahual during the course of the mission.
Sit down at the base camp and Lara will talk with Jonah for more story background. There is not much else to do besides getting the remaining collectibles for "The Hidden City" and other regions that are still open. Use the opportunity while you're at the base camp to switch to the "Serpent Guard" outfit for another mission. Leave the skull cave again. Turn right and hop down to the next level. Follow the stairs down to the water. Swim over to the little northernmost island where you can see two people waiting.
Mission "Ancient Studies: Decipher the Murals": Talk to the child (Awil) examining the mural to begin another mission. [Screenshot] (map location)
Decipher 3 Cultist Murals (1/3)
The regions where the 3 murals can be found are marked with green circles on the map. [Screenshot] (map location) Make your way over to the first area by heading across to the right shore. Head up the path past the field on your left and an artificially created pond, where you can collect a resource container with +15 XP, on your right. You will come to a fork where you collected a survival cache atop the dividing structure earlier. Choose the left path and find the mural directly on the right, adjacent to the bricked wall there. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) You are rewarded with +250 XP.
Decipher 3 Cultist Murals (2/3)
Now get around the wall and take the right path up the stairs. Atop the stairs turn right and head up the stairs there, too. With the opening you used during the previous mission on your right there is a little pond with the second mural inside on the left. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Again you are rewarded with +250 XP.
Decipher 3 Cultist Murals (3/3)
For the final mural continue south. There is a resource container with +15 XP just beyond the pond in front of a wooden animal cage and a second resource container with +15 XP in the butcher's hut. Head up the large stairs below the steep wall and continue upwards on the right side and turn right again up the large stairs to reach the yard in front of the temple. From here take the narrow stairs south. Continue upwards till you reach the hut at the top, here you make a U-turn and follow the narrow edge around that brings you to another set of stairs. [Screenshot] You come past the hut where you solved a murder. The final mural is in the back corner. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Another +250 XP are your reward.
Return to Awil
Head back down all the way you came to return to Awil on the little island. You will find that Awil is not there.
Speak to Mayu
Speak to the woman instead. This will end the mission and begin a new one.
Mission "Ancient Studies: Stop the Ritual": With the mission giver changes the mission.
Reach the Abandoned Village
Again head to the right shore and run past the fields. Before you reach the little pond and the waterfall, turn right. Up the slope, where you can pick up a perception plant, you will come to a muddy passage leading into the jungle. Wade through it and at the end climb through the gap in the wall.
Enter the Ritual Site
On the other side wade through the next muddy passage and run up the stairs. You will discover the Abandoned Village base camp and be rewarded with +25 XP. Around the camp you can collect some hide and an endurance plant. The rest that can be done here will have to wait till after the ritual. Head down the stairs and follow the cultist.
Begin the Ritual
Approach the altar where Awil is kept for a cutscene.
Defeat Kukulkan's Warriors
Now you are forced to fight the cultists. Kill the one in front of you and then use the time to disappear into hiding. From there take your time to take out the rest.
Return to Awil and Mayu
When the final cultist is dead you are tasked with returning to Awil, but let's first clear the area of collectibles.
Resources: Loot the fallen enemies and collect any plant you can find around the area. In the open hut by the altar you can collect two piles of gold ore and some black powder. For another resource container on the roof of this same hut climb the scratched tree opposite, slightly right, between the larger hut with the opening and the wooden platform structure. From its branch jump onto the wooden platform. From here continue towards the next tree branch on the right, where you can collect a perception plant. Another jump will allow you to reach the roof and collect the resource container with +15 XP.
Document (40/42): Use a rope arrow with the rope ascender to tear away the barrier to the left of the open hut (south-east). Step into the hut behind where you can find the next document, Lopez's Arrival on a wooden rack on the right side. It is from the artifact collection "Subjugating Paititi" (8/8). This will earn you +25 XP for the document and +75 XP for completing the collection. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) In this hut you can also collect a resource container, rewarding you with +15 XP. Then duck through the passage to find some jade ore (+6) in the back part. Afterwards return outside.
Document (41/42): Turn right and head towards the larger hut in north-eastern direction. Notice the opening up above. Climb inside. Here you can find a resource container, rewarding you with +15 XP. Turn to the second opening of the hut and stand beneath the rope coil. Use the bow to create a rope bridge to the hut on the other side. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Climb over. Inside the hut you will find the next document. It is Expedition Report from the artifact collection "Inside Out" (7/7). This will earn you +25 XP for the document, and an additional +75 XP for completing the collection. It will also improve your knowledge of Yucatec and unlock the next monolith. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Survival Cache (31/34): Head up the stairs where on the right you can pick up a resource container for +15 XP. Near the opening in the hut's wall you will find another Survival Cache you can dig up. It is worth another +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Archivist Map (6): In the left corner, beyond the survival cache you will find an Archivist Map sitting on a crate. It rewards you with +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) In the fern to the right of the map you will be able to collect another resource container with +15 XP. After collecting everything, slide down the slope to end up at the base camp again.
Challenge "Dropping Decimals" (3/3): If you look up from the base camp, you will find one of the hanging quipus. Turn towards the exit towards Paititi and find the narrow stairs winding around the building to the left of it. Climb the stairs to reach the ledge above. From here you can jump towards the quipu and pull it down using the grapple axe. You will obtain +100 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Document (42/42): Head back down into the jungle area. If you like, collect the health (2) and focus plants left and right of the path. Turn right. Immediately, just beyond the badly damaged hut on the left side you can climb up onto the stonewall. On the right you can collect some hardwood. In front of you is an opening in a stone wall and to the left of it you will find another boarded-up hut where you can use the rope ascender to tear it down. [Screenshot] Step inside the hut and find the document Covering the Tracks from the artifact collection "Search for the Hidden City" (7/8) sitting on a wooden bench opposite the entrance. You are rewarded with +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) There is also a resource container worth +15 XP and some jade ore (+6) in this hut. Leave it again.
After leaving the hut scramble up the tree next to it and from its branch jump to the elevated ledge (north). Pull up and head out on the other side. Near the edge you will find another nest with condor feathers for the challenge "Keep Calm and Carrion", if still open. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Stand beneath the rope coil and use a rope arrow to create a rope bridge between here and the rope coil down on the other side across the water. Slide down the created deathslide. Grab the perception plant here, then jump up the wall to hold on to the narrow ledge. From its right end jump over to the craggy wall and grab it with the axe. Climb over to the right and jump across the gap to the second craggy wall. Use it to climb to the top. Here you will not only find a couple of endurance plants, but also the entrance to the final crypt. There is also another diving spot here which I will get to after the crypt.
Crypt (5/5) "Chuki, the Weaver": Enter the cave. Carefully make your way down and at the bottom use your knife to cut the tripwire operating the trap. In the next tunnel you will find an endurance plant on the right. Enter the well shaft.
Mural (23/23): On the right wall you will spot a mural. It is Chuki, the Weaver from the artifact collection "Resting Places" (8/8). You will earn +35 XP and improve your knowledge of Quechua. For completing the artifact collection you will obtain an additional +75 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Resources: For a lesson in history and some resources do not jump into the water just yet but find the spiral stairs leading down. At the bottom you can grab some jade ore (+6). Step into the passage and roll under harmless spear trap protruding from the left wall. Exit towards the well again. Both left and right of the pool you can find optional murals that do not count towards the collectibles but will give you more background information.
Jump into the water.
Survival Cache (32/34): Dive straight down, in the centre of a circle of stone figures you can dig up the next Survival Cache for +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
After catching your breath, dive down again and find the narrow opening in south-eastern direction. Squeeze through the gap. In the next tunnel find the pocket of air to catch your breath. Continue along the tunnel into the cavern with the next air pocket.
Relic (28/28): Behind the pocket of air, at the wall you will find a kind of altar with a small chest sitting on it. Open it to find the Lord and Lady of the Dead from the artifact collection "Pantheon of Gods" (7/8). You are rewarded with +25 XP and improve your knowledge of Yucatec. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Archivist Map (7): Turn around to face the way you came. Just left of that tunnel you will find a secret passage with a greenish gleam. Dive up to leave the water. Be careful when following the passage and cut the tripwire to deactivate the spear trap on the left wall. Duck under the protruded spears and continue along the passage. At the water's edge, on the right side you will be able to pick up the next Archivist Map from the floor. You will gain +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Survival Cache (33/34): Jump into the water and dive down into the the next passage. On the ground you can dig up the next Survival Cache for +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Return the way you came, past the trap and dive back down into the cavern where you found the relic.
Coming from the secret passage dive straight ahead (north). Here you will find a weak wall you can break down using the axe. Squeeze through between the statues and find the pocket of air at the bend. Continue onward and collect the focus plant before ascending to emerge in the crypt. Climb out of the water. The area is a perfect place to find spiders for dart poison and +5 XP.
Resources: Cut the jade ore (+6). Then cut the jade ore (+6).
Then run into one of the open passages (north or south) to follow the stairs up to the sarcophagus.
Speak of the Dead (4/4): Open the Sarcophagus to obtain 750 gold pieces, Vestige: Manko's Boots and +225 XP. The challenge is now complete. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Follow the passage behind the sarcophagus. There's an endurance plant at the foot of the stairs. Head up the stairs and at the end use rope arrows to tear down the Rope Arrow Barrier. Step through and you are back in the well shaft, on the top level. Exit through the passage on the opposite side again and follow the tunnel out into the open.
Perform a dive off the wooden ledge.
Resources: If you explore the lake, you will be able to collect all kinds of plants, a vein of gold ore (+6), and a resource container with +15 XP.
Survival Cache (34/34): Swim over to the beach on the northern side, where you will find a wolf den. Before you enter, dig up the final Survival Cache in front of the den. You are rewarded with +25 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Also grab the resource container with +15 XP on the right and the hardwood on the left.
"Legendary Hunter" (?/5): Enter the den and finish the two red (+30 XP each) and two black (+85 XP each) wolves. If you need to catch your breath, you can retreat into the lake. Don't forget to loot the wolves, especially the black ones, as they count towards the Legendary Hunter trophy/achievement. [Screenshot] (map location)
Explorer Backpack: Also in the wolf den, by the rock in the middle, you can find an Explorer Backpack. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Resources: There is also some gold ore (+6) nearby and a resource container with +15 XP at the back wall, as well as a deer offering hide on the right and another plant near the entrance.
Swim through the lake to the south-western shore, where there is a half-sunken hut on the right.

Treasure Chest (1/2): Slip through the opening in the wall, next to the monolith, to the left of the large mural which was story-related. Climb out into the yard. Turn right to reach the protruding wooden platform above the water and dive down. Dive into the tunnel and stay close to the ground to use the patch of grass to hide from the piranhas. Continue to the second patch when they are moving away and quickly continue into the next area where you will find a pocket of air. You will reach the sunken ruins in an underground cavern again. Swim over to the opening of the ruins on the right, avoiding the swarm of piranhas. [Screenshot] Follow the tunnel and at the end dive right, up the stairs. Return to the previous pocket of air to catch your breath. Then pry away the rubble on the upper level to open up an exit. Since the short way around these ruins is almost certainly deadly, swim over to the left side of the area (north) where there is the passage you have used during your previous visit. Staying close to the ground make your way from patch of grass to patch of grass to reach the other end. Catch your breath at the pocket of air before swimming up the stairs on the right (east). Use the patch of grass to avoid the piranhas then continue down into the tunnel. Follow the stairs up and into the ruins on the left. Straight ahead, further up, is the next pocket of air where you catch your breath before continuing upwards. Dive up the shaft to emerge in a pond. Swim along and leave the water. Scramble up the wall in front. Balance up the tree slightly right and hop down on the other side. Make your way along the path hopping up the next wall. The path leads right, past a wrecked car. Follow the path, then squeeze through the greenery to reach the old overgrown airfield, here head over to the left and find the wall of wooden boards you can scale on the other side (south-east). Hop down into the next area and run to the right to wade through the mud passage and duck under a fallen tree. Continue to reach the Airfield Dirt Road base camp. You may choose to fast travel from here to the Kuwaq Yaku Ruins camp, but it's not that far to go, so I will continue on foot. Follow the trail and hop down into the pond which you exit on the other side. Continue along the path to reach the ruins to your right.
Monolith (3/3): Do not follow the stairs further but hop down to the left to reach the hunting ground here. On a ledge high above, right in front of you you can spot a monolith. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Study it to obtain +25 XP I lie silent where arrows once flew, guarding a door which will no longer open.
Monolith Riches Survival Cache (14/14): The clue leads us to another ledge in this hunting ground. For easier orientation let's take the high road to reach this ledge. Face east to see a tree branch. Climb this tree to reach it. It is a little difficult to jump, so you might have to scramble up the scratched trunk. From the branch jump towards the curved branch that can be used to swing to the next tree branch. Jump towards the platform with the pillar wrapped in rope. From here balance across the fallen tree to reach the target ledge. Find the Survival Cache and dig it up for +50 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Hop down.
Document (18/18): Head across the path and slightly to the left to find a Shotgun Barrier in the rock face. Switch to the shotgun (left on the D-pad) and shoot the barrier to clear it away. It is Fever Dreams from the artifact collection "Search for the Hidden City" (8/8). You are rewarded with +25 XP and an additional +75 XP for completing the collection. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Further there is a vein with gold ore and some cloth to be found in the tiny cave. Leave it again. Head across the area to the north to find the path leading back into town.
Crypt (2/2): When heading towards the town, take the second path on the left side, the one shortly before you reach the parked car. You come past the Hunting Grounds base camp. Continue towards the area with the lagoon.
Travelling Merchant:Here you might encounter the travelling merchant on the left. Take the opportunity to buy everything you are still missing. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location)
Continue towards the back of the lagoon area. Over on the left you will find another Shotgun Barrier blocking an entrance. Take it down using the shotgun and step inside. Open the Sarcophagus to obtain 750 gold pieces, Vestige: Condor Cowl of Urqu and +135 XP. [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) Leave the crypt again.
Treasure Chest (2/2): Before you reach the rock formation with the pillar wrapped in rope, approach the south-western wall where the water is deeper. Dive down and into the underwater cave. Squeeze through the gap at the end. Swim along till you reach the area where the monolith is found at the shore. Dive down and find the narrow tunnel leading into the area beneath the monolith just below the surface. The long and narrow tunnel will lead you right to the Treasure Chest, which you can open with the lockpick. [Screenshot], [Screenshot], [Screenshot] (map location) You will obtain +50 XP and the Copal from the artifact collection "A Community in Need" (5/5). Since this is the last Treasure Chest in the game you will obtain the trophy/achievement Treasure Hunter at this point. Dive back outside and swim to the jetty on the opposite side. Make your way up the stairs to find the Kuwaq Yaku base camp on the left.
You have now completed the Kuwaq Yaku region 100%.
The Hidden City

City of the Serpent

Swim Through the Irrigation System

Lara has received Unuratu's Amulet, part of the artifact collection "The Resistance" (9/9), from Etzli and is rewarded with +50 XP. Dive down into the tunnel, collecting the focus plant on the way. Part of the tunnel collapses in front of Lara, but do not let this bother you. Squeeze through the gap between columns and you will reach a pocket of air. After catching your breath, continue along the way. Swim steadily upwards towards an opening in the remains of a temple. Shortly after entering you will find a second pocket of air. Follow the tunnel further along. It curves to the left and a little downwards. Before the collapsing structure leads you up again. You will soon be able to surface and exit the water. Sneak through the tunnel of roots to reach the large cave with the City of Serpents. You will obtain +150 XP.

Go to the Crimson Fire

Follow the walkway down, jumping across the gap on the way. From the end of the walkway jump towards the grapple spot and swing to the craggy wall where you attach your axe. Climb to the right where you can climb upwards and pull onto the platform. From its end jump towards the horizontal bar and swing to the next bar. This one collapses and drops Lara towards the crumbling ruins. She manages to grab the ledge. Secure your grip and pull up. Jump towards the stairs to grab the ledge and pull up again. Head upwards. Duck along the path and balance on the wooden beam at the end. From here jump ahead and use the grapple axe to attach to the craggy wall above you. Climb up towards it and then traverse along the wall to the right. Jump past the gap and attach to the second part of the craggy wall. At the end rappel down and swing towards the ledge in front of you. Jump over there and pull up. Follow the walkway to the end to reach a pillar with rope wrapped around it. Use a rope arrow to create a rope bridge between here and the rope coil down on the other side. Slide over. You are rewarded with +250 XP and you'll obtain the trophy/achievement Queen of the Damned at this point.

Follow the Yaaxil to the Pyramid

Walk down the stairs and the Yaaxil will part for you. They will open the great portal for you. At this point the final item, a photo of the Crimson Fire part of the artifact collection "Lara's Notebook" (11/11) will be added to your inventory. You will obtain the trophy/achievement Dr. Croft. Head towards the edge and jump to the horizontal pole on the right to swing to the next craggy wall. Climb over to the right and jump to the next craggy wall. From the right end jump off to the right and use the grapple axe with the grapple point above your head to swing to the wooden walkway. Continue along jumping across the gap. Scramble up the wall to reach the handhold and traverse to the left along it. At the end jump further to the left and use the axe on the craggy wall. Climb upwards and around to the left where you can reach the top. From the end of the platform jump to the next part of the walkway and from its end jump ahead and use the grapple axe to reach the next craggy wall. Climb along it to the right and steadily up until you reach the wooden grate. Climb this as well to reach the top. Walk towards the next portal.

Defeat Trinity

Lara finds cover behind a wooden barrier. Take out the first three Trinity Soldiers from behind this cover, ducking whenever needed. Then advance into the passage. Don't forget to loot fallen enemies for ammunition. Around the corner Lara finds cover behind a low brick wall. Up in the alcove above sits a Trinity Soldier who keeps shooting at you. To get rid of him quickly hit the explosive barrel on the left side. Still another Trinity Soldier might appear after him. Take him out while ducking behind cover as needed. Make your way forward and around the corner to the right where you have to find cover behind the next brick wall. After the Foot Soldiers are dealt with you still have the issue of the tank shooting at everything that moves. Stay behind cover and advance slowly by moving from cover to cover while eliminating all Trinity Soldier. When you reach the tank and all other enemies are dealt with the Crimson Fire will take care of Paladin One and Commander Rourke. You will obtain +100 XP.

Climb the Pyramid

Loot everything you can before you continue. Climb up to the right side of the tank and scramble up the wall. Climb the ledges and pull up. On the left you will find another resource container with +15 XP and on the right is the final base camp City of the Serpent. You will obtain +25 XP for discovering it. Make sure you are prepared for the final battle. Upgrade everything you might need and equip the best weapons you have. Step out onto the wooden beam and from there jump to the next walkway. Run to its end and from there jump to the craggy wall. Climb up, then jump to the wooden boards above you. Climb up and to the right and jump to the upper handholds. Traverse right and here climb up onto the ledge. Balance out onto the wooden pole and jump ahead, using the axe to hold on to the ledges above you. Climb up the rope and then up the ledges to the top. Jump to the walkway and continue along. The walkway becomes a slide. Jump off at the lower end and use the grapple axe to swing from the grapple point above you. Lara will be catapulted to the next craggy wall. Use the axe to hold on to it and then scale it. Climb up. On this ledge you will find another resource container with +15 XP. Jump ahead and use the grapple axe to attach to the tiny bit of craggy wall. Use the rope to perform a wallrun and jump off to the right. Immediately use the grapple axe to swing from the next grapple point. Lara manages to grab a wooden beam that swings around. Climb up the ledges and from the top one scramble up the wall to reach the craggy wall. Use the axe to hold on to it, then jump to the second part further right. From its top scramble up the wall to reach further handholds. Climb up and jump the last bit to the top ledge. From there first traverse to the second part, then jump over to the wooden ledge further left. Climb up, then scramble up the wall to reach the next bit of craggy wall. Climb around to the right. From the end look over to the right - make sure Lara really does so - them jump forward and use the grapple axe to attach to the craggy ceiling. Climb up to it to shimmy along it to the right. At the end climb up and climb the overhang ledges to reach the top. You will obtain +100 XP.

Stop Dominguez

To give you a layout of the area, you will find Dominguez in the middle, surrounded by energy, he is being fed by three statues Lara refers to as icons scattered around the ritual area, each manned by one of the Serpent Guards. These four people are relatively harmless for now. The more immediate danger comes from three other henchmen patrolling. Make sure you get a coating of mud as soon as you find a puddle for additional cover. Stealthily make your way around the area once to get a feel for it, only moving when it's safe, and take out the stray henchmen from hiding places while collecting everything you find from ammo to resources.
First Icon
Once you have cleared the area, pick one of the icons and sneak to it's backside to use the axe and release the energy trapped inside. Once that is done, Dominguez will send out his goons to find you. Quickly find a hiding place to evade them and take them out as stealthily as possible. If caught, try to kill one or two then try to disappear again. Kill them all, then stock up on ammo and resources.
Second Icon
Once it is clear, get to the second icon and use the axe at the back to release the trapped energy. Again you need to deal with a group of goons.
Third Icon
Deal with the third icon the same way you did with the previous two. This time Dominguez will be released from the energy flow.
Attacking Dominguez (1)
He will become part of the fight. Try to disappear. Take out the regular goons, then deal with Dominguez by giving it your all. Don't forget to use endurance, perception and focus. After a couple of good hits he will become entrapped in a bubble of energy. Quickly approach him and use the melee finisher to deal damage.
Attacking Dominguez (2)
He recovers. Quickly disappear, catch your breath then begin your assault again. Repeat the melee attack once Dominguez is paralysed for a moment.
Attacking Dominguez (3)
Repeat the fight against him, but beware he has gotten a lot angrier and single hits from his bow or in melee can deal a lot of damage. Again he will become petrified after a couple of good hits and will be vulnerable to a quick melee attack. This time Lara will destroy some of his armour.
Attacking Dominguez (4)
Keep shooting at Dominguez to get him back into his bubble for another melee attack.
Attacking Dominguez (5)
The going gets rougher each time to the tactics are still the same. This time put him in his bubble and strike one last time for the kill.

After the cutscene with Lara's parents you will obtain the trophy/achievement Completionist. After the cutscene with the Crimson Fire and the one with Unuratu's funeral you will be rewarded with the trophy/achievement Quite the Adventure and any difficulty-related trophy applying to your playthrough, like Smart and Resourceful, Rite of Passage, One With the Jungle or Deadly Obsession.
